National Button Society
The National Button Society (NBS) is a non-profit organization committed to celebrating buttons since 1938. Our efforts led to button collecting’s recognition as an organized hobby.
For a standard membership of just $35 annually, you too can become a proud member of a society that celebrates our important heritage and history.
Our Values and Mission
The NBS has around 3000 members, and all are devoted to the preservation and study of clothing buttons. Our principal objectives include:
- Promotion of educational research
- Exhibitions
- Publishing and dissemination of information about buttons
- Preservation of buttons and their history for future generations
Our Scope
New collectors are always guaranteed to find veteran collectors within a reasonable travel distance.
NBS membership spans four continents and 39 of the 50 states represented by state and local button clubs. Some states have multiple button clubs. In addition, several states on the East and West coasts have combined into regional associations to promote educational activities and annual show events.
You can also reach out to members anywhere with ButtonBytes, our online button club. New and novice collectors can meet experienced collectors instantaneously who are always ready to answer questions.

JUNIOR US

Ages 6-17
Membership for juniors living in the United States.
ASSOCIATE US
$35.00 (USD) / Year
For organizations or businesses in the United States. Also, include one personal contact name. If you are already an adult member, use a DIFFERENT EMAIL address for this Associate membership.
CO-MEMBERSHIP US
$45.00 (USD) / Year
For those in the United States living at the same address: Only 1 bulletin is mailed. THE PRIMARY MEMBER MUST SIGNUP FIRST, then the NBS Membership Coordinator will work with you to add the rest of the members.
International JUNIOR
$28.00 (USD) / Year
Ages 6-17
Membership for international juniors living outside of the United States.
International ADULT
$45.00 (USD) / Year
Membership for international adults living outside of the United States.
International ASSOCIATE

If you do not notify the NBS membership coordinator, some information on this form may be accessed on the website by other members and printed in the NBS Bulletin and Directory. It may be shared with affiliated button clubs. It will never be shared for profit purposes.
