Capturing the Magic of Buttons
Buttons have been called little masterpieces of art. Their pretty faces, craftsmanship and age are among what compels us to love them.
But what of their cousins…the mass-produced and plainer garment buttons? How do we show them love?
An answer is in the “magical” creation of beautiful button art and crafts. NBS invites you to get creative with challenges, videos and workshops!
No Harm Method
NBS encourages button jewelry and crafting using “no-harm” methods: Buttons and buckles will not be intentionally damaged in the creative process.
Annual Creative Challenges
We’ve been challenging you to get creative since 2022!
Every year we hold The National Button Convention in Springfield IL. This year’s event is on August 4th, and you have until July 28th to choose, create and enter any or all of the Challenges.
Everyone can participate online or at the convention:
- JUNIORS compete FREE against other juniors in all categories
- All entries require a small entry fee, with only 5 buttons minimum and imagination
- No limit on the number of entries per Challenge per person.
- All entries should be purchased by July 28th and may be submitted
- On site on Monday August 4th at the 2025 NBS convention OR
- Online via an email by July 28th to creative@nationalbuttonsociety.org
Entries will be shared on the NBS Creative website pages and at the 2025 Fall Fest.
